Ficus Elastica - 120mm

Also known as the rubber plant, these gems are incredibly hardy, with a great tolerance for a range of growing conditions making their care needs near impossible to get wrong. Not only are they easy to grow, they're also very attractive, with broad, leathery, oval-shaped leaves that have a great shine to them. Its air-purifying qualities make it an ideal choice for enhancing indoor air quality while adding natural beauty to your home or office. 

All varieties of rubber plant are best kept contained in pots, because of their prolific growth and invasive root systems. When planted in the ground they can reach over 20m in height and their spreading roots can cause untold damage to driveways, paving, swimming pools and even house foundations. Keep them potted for manageable growth.

CARE TIPS

• Place your Ficus Elastica in bright, indirect light. It can adapt to moderate light conditions but avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
• Good drainage is a must for these guys. Ensure the top few inches of soil are dry, water thoroughly and ensure good drainage to prevent waterlogging which can lead to root rot.
• Dusting the leaves of the plant will not only leave your plant looking fabulously glossy and gorgeous looking, it will also allow the plant to breathe and absorb all the beautiful sunlight.
